The work

As part of my photography minor, I was given the opportunity to pursue a self-initiated creative project, which led me to explore the intricate connection between a person's emotional and mental states. I chose to work exclusively with a 50mm lens, adjusting the aperture and shutter speed to suit the specific needs of each shot. To shift the viewer's focus away from the physical appearance of the subject, I photographed the models in black and white, highlighting the emotional and psychological depth of the subjects. The colourful backgrounds were deliberately maintained to enhance the atmosphere, creating a stark contrast that further amplified the subjects' internal experiences.
