Portrait photography
During my photography minor, I was given the opportunity to undertake a self-directed creative project, which led me to explore portrait photography. I focused on experimenting with light manipulation and prism reflections to create unique, visually engaging compositions. Drawing inspiration from the growing trend of photo illustration on Instagram, I wanted my images to evoke the playful, spontaneous feel of childhood scribbles on magazines. To achieve this, I used a 50mm lens for its bokeh effect, ensuring the model remained the central focal point. Post-shoot, I enhanced the images by editing them to align with the intended mood of the photoshoot and added hand-drawn elements with my tablet, creating a consistent and cohesive visual style across the series.
